The Neverending Story
I read the entire book to my 5th Grade Class during "Story Time."
The class follows along in their individual copy of the book.
Art, writing, and discussion about the book are just some of the events I have had in my classroom.
I also show the video "The Neverending Story" (Part I) at the conclusion of Chapter 11 - "The Childlike Empress."
I explain to my class that certain key chapters are left out of the movie (ex. Ch. 4 - "Ygramul the Many").
I also relate to them the adventure I had in trying to locate the hardcover copy of the book in order to see the green & red letters
that are used in the book. I also tell "my story" of how I needed to find out what Bastian was yelling at the end of the movie.
After reading the entire book to the class, I show the video "The Neverending Story" (Part II).
I hope to use this web page to collect key links and to do internet-based projects with the students.
